Lengshuikeng, located in Yangmingshan National Park, was originally a lake. When the outflow of the lake dried up, a depression formed and because the hot spring in this area is only 40°C (104°F) which is lower than the nearby hot springs so it is called Lengshuikeng (cold water pit).
