When I flew back to California from New York, I had to wait at the airport for hours. I was glad that I brought my gratitude journal with me. Flipping through my gratitude diaries from the past few years, I saw several entries regarding me or my children encountering difficulties. The road seemed to come to an end and the days seemed impossible. But in each instance God always pulled us through the difficulties and let us experience grace upon grace. Lengshuikeng, located in Yangmingshan National Park, was originally a lake. When the outflow of the lake dried up, a depression formed and because the hot spring in this area is only 40°C (104°F) which is lower than the nearby hot springs so it is called Lengshuikeng (cold water pit).
