I’m sorting through old photos taken at Huntington Library in March 2021.  This is Camellia Japonica ‘Otahuhu Beauty’.  Its rose pink flowers with full peony form are very beautiful.

Words of the Day

Let’s meditate on the name of God – Ab, Abba, Pater – Father. The word Abba is an Aramaic word that means “Father.” It was a common term that expressed affection and confidence and trust. Abba signifies the close, intimate relationship of a father and his child, as well as the childlike trust that a young child puts in his “daddy.” But the right to be a child of God and call Him “Abba Father” is something that only born-again Christians have. When we are born again, we are adopted into the family of God, redeemed from the curse of sin, and made heirs of God. Part of that new relationship is that God now deals with us differently, as family. What a privilege that we have to call God “Abba, Father!” who is the source of our hope and life.

John 1:12-13

However, he gave the right
to become God’s children
to everyone who believed in him.
These people didn’t become God’s children
in a physical way—from a human impulse
or from a husband’s desire to have a child.
They were born from God.
